“Far better is it to dare mighty things, even though chequered by failure, than to dwell in that perpetual twilight that knows not victory or defeat”.
– Theodore Roosevelt
As far back as I can remember, since having my son, I’ve had this quote on a card blu tacked somewhere prominent. Whenever we up sticks I keep it safe.
So, here I am at University – daring a mighty thing – a Generation Jones wordsmith who likes listening, and loves people.
I’ve spent most of my working life in the Voluntary Community Sector helping people enable themselves. I hope what I write keeps nudging the world in the right direction. I hope it entertains too.

When I left the sector one corporate supporter was mightily surprised the ‘charity lady’ was to become a journalist. “Make sure you’re a good journalist” Shaun said; by which he meant be one of the good guys Liz. Journos it seems don’t have a good rep!
Shaun saves rhinos, amongst other things, for a living. So he’s set the bench mark.
That’s it really, so thank you so much for reading my blog; all views expressed are my own.
Hope you like it. X
